There are many ancient sweet dishes which we usually tend to ignore to have because they have a lot of calories in it but We often forget that these dishes are healthy as well as delightful, which also has some nutrition in it. So today, I have come up with such a traditional dish which is my personal favourite and I am sure it is gonna become your favourite too!

Sukdi or god papdi is one such sweet dish that I think you all must have heard of and if not then you need to read further and get the complete information of this exciting dish!

This dish has tragacanth gum in it which is the sap of the thorny shrub tragacanth and is an edible gum used to make sweet dishes. This gum is also very good for strengthening the bones. It is a 6 ingredients recipe that requires just half an hour to prepare and the best part is that it does not require any pre-preparation at all. It is even low on calories as it has jaggery and not sugar, so don’t be afraid to try this amazing and sweetie dish at your home. So let’s head into the recipe quickly!!

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of desi ghee
½ cup of tragacanth gums
2 tbsp. of dry ginger powder
¾ cup of jaggery
½ cup of grated coconut
½ cup of chopped almonds

METHOD:

Firstly, take out the pan from your cupboard and put it on the stove and Take 2 cups of wheat flour and 1 cup of desi ghee and keep stirring it till the mixture gets a nice golden colour.

Then, put the ½ cup of tragacanth gums and wait for them to get popped completely and become nice light and shiny. Remember that the mixture should be properly cooked and the pan is heated nicely; otherwise, the gums won’t pop completely.

Furthermore, put 2 tbsp. of dry ginger powder ( suth powder) and ¾ cup of jaggery and mix everything properly by taking down the pan after the jaggery melts.

Make sure the mixture becomes thick and is cooked properly. Then take the mixture in the steel plate and evenly spread it with a steel bowl and top it with a load of chopped almonds.

Cut them into square pieces as soon as you put almonds on it; otherwise, after it hardens it won’t get cut properly.

After it gets cooled completely, take out a piece, and take a bite of it.
