Hey everyone! My name is Riddhi Kothari and I am a passionate food blogger who loves to create new recipes that are quick and easy to make.
I am fond of Lebanese cuisine and one such dish is Falafel; falafel is made from chickpeas which are very healthy and are counted as a vegan ingredient. This recipe which I am going to be sharing with you is slightly different from the normal falafel, as I love to do fusion dishes, here I have also done fusion and the name of this dish is mini falafel burgers. Everything is going to be made from scratch, so let’s get started!
INGREDIENTS:
For making falafel:
100 grams of boiled chickpeas
1 tbsp. chili paste
1 tsp dry ginger powder
1 tbsp. coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp. red chilli powder
½ tsp pepper powder
Salt as per taste
1 tbsp. lemon juice
½ diced capsicum
1 tbsp. crushed peanuts
1 tbsp. rice flour
Oil for frying
For making the white sauce:
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. refined flour
½ cup of milk
1 tbsp. fresh malai (cream)
Salt as per taste
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp chilli flakes
For making mint chutney:
1 cup of mint leaves
1-2 green chillies
1 tbsp. split chana powder
Salt as per taste
½ tsp black salt
Water for mixing
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp lemon juice
For making burger buns:
Wheat flour tortillas
METHOD:
Firstly, take a mixer jar and put all the ingredients required for making the falafel in it and coarsely grind it.
Then, remove the mixture in a bowl and put ¼ tsp of baking soda and mix well. Make small balls out of this mixture by slightly wetting your hands with water.
Afterward, fry them in the oil and fry until they become golden brown and keep them aside.
Furthermore, for making the white sauce, put the butter into the pan and add the refined flour and stir for 1 minute and then add the milk to it and stir frequently after adding the cream, black pepper powder, salt, chilli flakes to it to avoid lumps and make a soft white sauce out of it and keep aside.
Now for making the mint chutney, take the mixer jar and put all the ingredients required for making this chutney as mentioned above and make a thick chutney out of it.
For making the cover of the falafel, take the normal wheat chapatis that you have and cut them with a cookie-cutter in a round shape
For the final plating, take one chapati and apply the white sauce on one side and then place a falafel on it and the take another chapatti and apply mint chutney and join these and make a burger by inserting a toothpick in it and make some more like this and enjoy eating it.
