There isn’t a single morning when my granny doesn’t start her day without a steaming bowl of freshly cooked oats doused in milk. Are you looking for a summer that is free of acidity and bloating? If you answered yes, then this piece of delicious recipe is for you.
To grant this year’s celebrations an ‘oat-a-licious’, healthy and innovative twist, here could be a tempting Thandai formula. It is made with oats, seeds, daft and milk. This special Oats Thandai is indeed a nutritious pick for your festival beverages.
Oats are the most common whole grains. They have a decent amount of fibres, plant-based protein, healthy fatty acids, and trace minerals. Weight loss and blood sugar regulation are aided by the high fibre content. Soluble fibres are also beneficial to gut health. Oats are high in soluble fibres, which aid in cholesterol reduction. These soluble fibres aid in intestinal transit time and glucose absorption reduction.
Now, you don’t have to wait anymore and you can make this Thandai in less than 20 minutes. Go through this recipe and enjoy this oats drink on special occasions with your family and friends.

Ingredients required to make this drink are: SERVING- 4

• 1 1/2 cup oats
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 10 cashews
• 10 raisins
• 25 peppercorns
• 1 teaspoon melon seeds
• 3 cup water
• 1 Pinch saffron
• 1/2 teaspoon rose water
• 10 almonds
• 10 green cardamom
• 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
• 1 teaspoon fennel seeds

Now, let’s learn how to make Oats Thandai by following these simple steps-

Step 1- Dry roast the oats
Pre-heat a pan over medium-high heat. Dry roast the oats for five minutes to get rid of their rawness. Let the oats calm down.

Step 2- Blend the oats
Take a blender, add dry cooked oats, water as needed and grind it. Add water in batches and grind to make a smooth mixture. Currently keep it aside.

Step 3 -Soak nuts and seeds
Soak or immerse the almonds, cashew nuts, peppercorns, raisins, cardamom, flower seeds, fennel seeds, and melon seeds in 1/2 cup water for 5 to 6 hours. Later, strain the water and grind the soaked ingredients in a blender to make a sleek paste.

Step 4- Mix with oats
Add the ground paste (in step 3) to the oats mixture (in step 2) and strain the mixture through a sieve.

Step 5- Cook on low flame
Cook this Oats Thandai mixture in a saucepan for five minutes on a low flame. Add sugar, saffron, milk and rose water and mix properly till sugar is dissolved in it.

Step 6- Refrigerate the thandai
Allow the Thandai to cool for a few minutes before refrigerating it.

Step 7- Garnish and serve
Pour the Thandai in serving glasses; garnish it with rose petals and dry fruit slivers. Do try out this recipe at home, rate it and let us know how it turned out to be.
