FOOD AND FALLACIES
FOOD AND FALLACIES

Fads and fallacies are a never ending curse for food. Too many wrong beliefs exist regarding food. It can either be related to indigenous culture or personal beliefs. Fallacies related to culture have evolved over time becoming either liberal or conservative. Those fads and fallacies cannot be dismissed easily. The fallacies have robbed the practitioners of some of the great taste and combinations. Nothing can be done to save or please their taste buds.

The fallacies born out of personal beliefs can be corrected to some extend, and their savoury experience could be redeemed. But for most of them it doesn’t even matter. Definitly it is not a big deal. It will not affect anyone’s daily life .

Food can enliven your mood sometimes. It can uplift the joyous moment . Getting a scrumptious meal on your big day makes it even more special. Food plays a crucial role in elevating a good time to the best. So missing out some good combination or food due to some unnecessary fallacies can be depressing for someone, atleast for the epicures.
A common fallacy which is widespread among so many people is regarding the intake of milk products with fish. To be specific, curd and fish curry is considered as cyanide for some if consumed together. For a general knowledge, cyanide is a composition of carbon and nitrogen whereas curd and fish is close to cyanide only in the first four letters of their compositions which happen to be the same : ” CARB” . But one is carbon and the other is carbohydrate . The only conclusion that can be made is that some stingy guy made that up so that he doesn’t need to buy curd all the time when there is fish on the table and not letting anyone in the family get addicted to that splendid combination and hence could save some money. Yes !!! That’s a statement, it is one of the best combinations so far. A spoonful of curd to some hot juicy fish curry is heaven. Apart from that there are a bunch of fish recipes in which milk or milk products are an unavoidable ingredient.

But technically speaking milk is cold and fish is hot. The imbalance could cause some digestion irregularity according to some studies. But nothing has been reported till date and definitely it won’t kill you. Still be easy on the combination as the dish is abnormally splendid and eating anything too much can cause trouble.

The list of fallacies are never ending when it comes to food.

Cooking in aluminium vessels can cause cancer

While cooking in aluminium vessels can cause some aluminium to dissolve to the food, some consider it to be harmful and believe that it can eventually cause cancer. Too much aluminium is definitely harmful to the body, but according to the Alzheimers Society a daily intake of around 50g of aluminum won’t cause any harm. The worst version of the fad is that aluminium can melt and combine with the food while cooking. The maximum temperature that can rise during cooking in an LPG range is 300-400 degree and the melting point of aluminum is about 660 degree celsius. So it wont melt to the food and create an aluminium statue in your  tummy. The only way it is hazardous is the improper cooking which can cause your dish to burn and turn to black carbon and eating that carbon could eventually cause cancer . So a hard bottomed iron pan is always better and never leave your dish alone and prevent it from burning and becoming carbon.Throw it out and start over, and thus you can prevent cancer.

Drinking too much fruit juices can make you slimmer

Fruit juices are an unavoidable thing in a slimmer’s diet . And some strongly believe that consuming too much of it can speed up the slimming process. But things wont work like that. Every fruit has its own nutrients and calories and each one is unique. Certain fruits can even make you fat . Still  fruits can help a lot in digestion and health as it contains fibres and vitamins which will be lost while juicing. So include fruits rather than fruit juices since juicing can get it devoid of the essential components. Generally fruits can’t make you slim. Eating a proper healthy diet, regular workout or atleast a brisk walk a few times a day can burn out the unnecessary fat. The crushing of some good fruits and gulping it, making it even worse by dumping a load of white poison should be preferably avoided. Follow some good detox recipes for good results.
Mint is traditionally regarded as the best ingredient for soothing an upset stomach. Mint also improves the flow of bile through the stomach speeding up the digestion process. Eating red fruits or veggies can help in increasing blood. The main vegetable which is owed the wrong credit is Beetroot. It does not have iron or protein, which are the two main important factors for building blood.
