It is very simple to make and can be prepared in less than half an hour. Broccoli and carrots are rich in Vitamins and minerals which keeps you fit and healthy. This dish not only has less calorie count but gives you a lot of benefits in terms of health as well.

Ingredients required for making Broccoli carrot is: (SERVINGS 2)

· 6 carrots
· 3 tablespoon lime juice
· 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
· 5 teaspoons virgin olive oil
· Water as required
· Powdered black pepper as required
· 1 broccoli
· 1 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
· 2 teaspoon mustard seeds
· 3 handful coriander leaves
· salt as required

The steps required to prepare this simple salad are –

Step 1: Chop the broccoli and carrots

Firstly, to prepare this healthy and delicious salad, you need to peel the carrots and then slice or dice them into bite-sized pieces. Then, wash the broccoli and cut it into small florets. Chop some coriander leaves separately for garnishing the salad.

Step 2: Take a pan and heat water

Now, on a medium flame put a heavy-bottomed pan and heat water in it for cooking broccoli and carrots.

Step 3: Cook it for 2 minutes

In the hot water add the broccoli florets and let them cook for about 2 to 3 minutes or till they are tender. In the hot water also add the carrots and let them simmer for a minute.

Step 4: Prepare the salad dressing

Meanwhile, put a pan and heat some oil in it over medium flame to prepare the salad dressing. Then, add some mustard seeds in the hot oil and let them fry for 20-30 seconds. After it, add some spices like garam masala and cumin powder into the pan.

Step 5: Add some seasoning to it

Let the spices fry for a little time (for around 4 to 5 minutes) and then take the pan off the flame. Take a bowl and transfer the fried spices to it. Now, for seasoning, you can mix lemon juice and some salt and black pepper in it.

Step 6: Drain the water

Now, it’s time to switch off the heavy-bottomed pan in which carrots and broccoli florets were getting cooked. Drain the excess water and transfer the cooked vegetables to a big salad mixing bowl.

Step 7: Mix the salad properly

Take a big bowl with the dressing mix and pour the dressing over the carrots and broccoli. Toss and mix the salad together in one direction so that it is well mixed.

Step 8: Transfer the salad to a serving plate

Once the salad is prepared, transfer it to the serving plates, garnish it with coriander leaves and lemon, and serve it immediately.
