Directions to follow:
• First thing first. You need to preheat your oven to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F. Now grease, as well as flour 3 pans.
• Now you have to read the cake package directions for preparing the cake mix. Don’t forget to divide 2/3 of batter between two cake pans. Mix instant coffee powder into rest batter. And pour the batter into the remaining pan.
• Now bake the batter in the preheated oven for at least 20-25 minutes. You can check the cake by inserting a toothpick into the cake’s center. If it comes out clean, then it means the cake is baked. Allow it to cool in the pan for around 10 minutes or so. After that, turn out it onto a wire rack. Let it cool totally. Take a measuring cup. Now combine 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur and brewed coffee; keep it aside.
• For making the filling, take a small bowl. Set your electric mixer on low speed. Now combine 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur, ½ cup sugar, and mascarpone; beat until smooth. Now you need to cover the bowl using a plastic wrap. Don’t forget to refrigerate it.
• For making the frosting, you need to take a medium-sized bowl. Set your electric mixer on medium-high speed. Making use of it, beat 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur, sugar, and heavy cream; beat until stiff. Now fold half a cup of cream mixture into the filling mixture.
• It’s time to assemble your cake. Take a serving plate. Keep one layer of cake on it. Poke holes in your cake with the help of a thin skewer. Now time for pouring 1/3 of the coffee mixture over your cake and spread with ½ of the filling mixture. Place the second layer of coffee-flavored cake on the top. Poke holes in this cake layer too. Pour coffee mixture over it and spread the rest filling. Now place another layer of cake. Don’t forget to poke holes. Pour the rest coffee mixture on the top. Now spread the top and sides of the cake with the frosting you have made. Take cocoa in a sieve and dust it lightly on top of your cake. You can use chocolate curls for garnishing. Refrigerate your cake 30 minutes before you serve.
