Cooking Tips that you should Follow:

• Use skinless, boneless fleshy fish such as salmon, basa, jack, trevally.
• Carrot and chopper bell peppers can be added to this Manchurian gravy.
• In case you love thick gravy, then mix cornstarch with water. You need to add this mixture to your gravy. Cook until your gravy gets thicken.
• Don’t add an excessive amount of water to the gravy. Soy sauce offers a salty taste to your gravy so add salt accordingly.
• Fry the fish pieces. Make the gravy a few minutes before serving since this helps in serving this dish warm and fresh for your loved ones.

Ingredients and their Proportions:

• Fish pieces 500 grams
• Oil to deep fry the fish

For Making the Batter:

• ¼ cup Cornflour/ cornstarch
• ¾ cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon pepper
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• Salt as per taste
• Water as required

For Making the Sauce:

• 2 tablespoon oil
• 1 chopped onion
• 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• Salt as per taste
• 2 chopped green chilies
• 1 teaspoon soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon red chili paste
• 1 tablespoon green chili sauce
• 1 chopped tomato
• 1 teaspoon vinegar
• 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
• ½ cup of water
• 1 teaspoon Cornflour
• Chopped spring onions

Method to Prepare Lip-Smacking Fish Manchurian:

Take a pan and heat oil.

Take all those ingredients that you’ll need to make the batter. Add water to the ingredients. Form a smooth batter. Dip the small fish pieces into the batter and fry them properly in hot oil until they become cooked and golden. Transfer them to a paper towel as this helps in absorbing the excess oil.

Now it’s time to prepare the sauce. Again, take a pan and heat oil.

Once the oil gets heated, add ginger garlic paste to it and give it a nice mix.

Add green chilis and onions to it and mix everything. Let it cook for about a minute.

Add chopped tomato and toss everything. Again, allow them to cook for 2 minutes.

Time to add some sugar and salt to it.

Add green chili sauce, vinegar, red chili paste, soy sauce, and mix everything well.

Now add the needed amount of water to the pan and give it a nice mix to make the sauce. Let it boil.

You need to add the cornflour slurry. Mix well as this helps your gravy to become saucy and thick.

Add pepper to it.

Add the fish pieces to the sauce and toss well.
Garnish with spring onion.

Fish Manchurian is ready to be served with noodles or fried rice.
