To prepare this simple recipe firstly, take some soya chunks and soak them in a large bowl for about half an hour. Then, take a pan, add some water and a bit of salt to it and heat it on medium flame. Once the water has reached its boiling point, then add the soya chunks in it and boil it for around 10 to 12 minutes. Once it is done, keep them aside.

Then, add some sliced onions to the pan and cook for some minutes. Once the onions are roasted, add chana dal to it. Stir well the mixture together and then add some salt, turmeric, garam masala and red chilli powder to the pan.

Step 3

After it, squeeze the boiled soya chunks and add them to the pan of chana dal (used in step 2). Mix well the mixture and the seasonings and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes. Then, turn off the flame and keep the mixture aside to cool down. Once done, add the entire mixture into a grinder and grind to coarse it for making the cutlet.
